About this Webinar
This 1 hour webinar provides an overview of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), the national standard governing traffic signs, signals, markings, and temporary traffic control devices on public roadways. Participants will review the purpose and structure of the MUTCD and will learn how to read and interpret the MUTCD, how the MUTCD achieves uniformity and why it’s important. In addition, this webinar will discuss recent updates and revisions, and how these changes affect roadway agencies, engineers, planners, and maintenance staff. The session emphasizes practical application, including common compliance issues, implementation timelines, and best practices for maintaining uniform and consistent traffic control. Real world examples will highlight how MUTCD standards improve safety, consistency, and legal defensibility. This webinar is ideal for transportation professionals seeking a refresher on MUTCD fundamentals or an introduction to current requirements and expectations.
