All participants are encouraged to complete the 4-hour web-based training National Highway Institute (NHI) Course No. 132070B - Drilled Shaft Inspector Tutorial.

The web-based training is available at no cost.  Registration for the prerequisite course is managed through the National Highway Institute website using the Blackboard platform Click here to learn how to register on Blackboard®. 

There are instructions for FHWA Users (FHWA employees) and Non-FHWA users (Non-FHWA employees) when creating an account. Please read the instructions carefully and take your time while completing the Blackboard registration process. Missing one instrumental step will lead to an unsuccessful account creation.

COURSE INFORMATION

COURSE DAYS, DATES AND TIMES:
No virtual delivery of this training is being offered.

A 2-hour qualification exam that is administered on the third day of the course.

Participants are required to attend 100% of the sessions of the course and successfully complete the 2-hour qualification exam that is administered on the third day of the course to receive a certificate of completion, continuous education units (CEUs), professional development hours (PDHs) and/or course credit in the Success Factors system (Louisiana DOTD employees only.) Attendance will be verified.  Course times are subject to change.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
The target audience for this course includes agency and consultant personnel who inspect foundations or major structures. In addition, project management and construction engineers in charge of drilled shaft construction inspection are encouraged to attend. This course is designed to be most beneficial to foundation inspectors who are responsible for inspecting drilled shafts during construction.
